ear players,
Magic in Retronia has gained new forms of progression, combat, and preparation.
This update introduces two entirely new systems for Sorcerers and Druids,
new equipment with attributes, a fully integrated Quest Log, major improvements
to Exercise Weapon training, and a special activity for players who enjoy
taking care of their Houses.
Small Explosive Runes
The new Small Explosive Runes turn compatible wands into weapons capable of
automatically firing runes at their targets.
- Four versions have been added: Poison, Fire, Energy, and Explosion.
- Each element belongs to a different progression stage, from Tier 1 to Tier 4.
- The runes are conjured in batches of 40 and do not require blank runes.
- Sorcerers and Druids can learn these spells from Zoltan in Edron without requiring a promotion.
- To fire them, the player must combine a compatible wand with one of the new spellbooks.
- The wand determines whether the shot strikes a single target or hits an area.
- Area wands may consume more runes per shot in exchange for greater offensive power.
- Area shots share exhaustion with offensive spells, while support spells remain independent.
New Spellbooks
The new spellbooks function as magical shields and determine which Small
Explosive Rune elements can be fired.
- Spellbook of Venomwake: allows Poison runes to be fired.
- Spellbook of Emberfall: allows Poison and Fire runes to be fired.
- Spellbook of Arclight: allows Poison, Fire, and Energy runes to be fired.
- Spellbook of Abyss: allows all elements to be used, including Explosion.
Higher-tier spellbooks retain access to the elements from previous tiers,
allowing each mage to choose the most suitable rune for every situation.
Rune Pouches
Three new Rune Pouches have also arrived, created specifically to store and
fire Small Explosive Runes.
- Rune Pouch: 2 slots.
- Great Rune Pouch: 10 slots.
- Supreme Rune Pouch: 22 slots.
- Runes can be fired directly from inside the pouch.
- Rune Pouches are soulbound and available in the Store.
- The pouch itself remains protected on death, but the runes stored inside it are not protected.
Charged Rods
Charged Rods are a new weapon line exclusive to Sorcerers and Druids.
Unlike traditional wands, they have their own charge reserve, which is
consumed with every attack.
A total of 11 Charged Rods have been added, distributed across different
elements and tiers:
- Tier 0: Firelight Rod, Moonlight Rod, and Swamplight Rod.
- Tier 1: Serpent Scepter Rod and Fireweaver Rod.
- Tier 2: Stormcaller Rod and Frostwarden Rod.
- Tier 3: Venom Rod and Archlight Rod.
- Tier 4: Falcon Rod and Shadowfall Rod.
As the progression advances, the rods offer more powerful attacks and special
properties such as poisoning, burning, electrifying, freezing, paralysis,
and death damage.
Recharging Rods
Charges can be restored with the new Recharge Rod spell:
- Magic words:
exevo virtus.
- Each cast consumes 35 mana and restores 35 charges.
- The rod must be equipped in one of the player's hands.
- The spell can be learned for 100 gold from spell trainers for mages.
Rarity, Attributes, and Craft
The new equipment is also integrated with Retronia's rarity and Craft systems.
- All four new spellbooks can gain rarity and attributes through Craft.
- Spellbooks can receive Increased Magic and different magical resistances, but cannot receive Critical.
- Rune Pouches can also be enhanced through Craft with Increased Magic and resistances, but never Critical.
- Rune Pouches purchased from the Store always come without random rarity. They can be upgraded later through Craft.
- Tier 1 through Tier 4 Charged Rods can receive rarity and attributes compatible with rods.
- The introductory Tier 0 rods remain basic equipment and cannot receive rarity.
The new rods and spellbooks have been placed throughout the world as rewards
from quests and exploration. Some can be found in familiar places, while
others will require players to face new challenges and mechanisms.
Quest Log
Retronia now features a fully integrated Quest Log, allowing players to
follow their adventures and mission progress directly through the game client.
- Started quests are automatically added to the Quest Log.
- Mission names and descriptions update according to the character's actual progress.
- The Quest Log clearly distinguishes missions in progress from completed objectives.
- The initial catalog includes 18 major quest lines and their respective missions.
- Tracked adventures include The Postman Missions, The Explorer Society, The Djinn War, The Pits of Inferno, The Annihilator, The Obliterator, and many others.
More quests can be integrated into the Quest Log over time, making it easier
to revisit objectives, remember previous accomplishments, and continue
long-running adventures.
Exercise Weapon Improvements
The Exercise Weapon training system has received a major overhaul to make
training more consistent, accessible, and reliable.
- Exercise Shields are now fully integrated and properly train Shielding.
- Automatic training sessions now stop correctly when the player moves, attacks, casts a spell, uses an item, unequips the weapon, or runs out of charges.
- Golden Exercise Dummies can now be used by only one player at a time.
- Exercise training gains now respect the rates configured for each game world.
- Exercise Weapons are now available from additional NPCs throughout the world.
- Store prices and descriptions for Exercise Weapons have been revised.
- Exercise Weapons purchased from the Store receive improved item protection.
Planting Pots in Houses
Houses have also received a new feature: players can now grow mushrooms using
the new Planting Pot.
- The Planting Pot can only be installed and used inside a House.
- The mushrooms progress through different visual growth stages.
- A new harvest becomes ready after 60 minutes.
- Each harvest provides between 1 and 3 Crimson Mushrooms.
- There is a small chance of finding a rare Golden Mushroom.
- Golden Mushrooms provide a longer food regeneration duration.
- After harvesting, a new growth cycle begins automatically.
- Each pot supports 100 harvests before its substrate must be renewed.
- The Planting Pot is Account Bound and available in the House Decorations section of the Store.
Prepare your spellbooks, fill your Rune Pouches, keep your rods charged,
follow your adventures through the Quest Log, and explore the world in search
of the new rewards. A new stage of progression has begun in Retronia.
Kind regards,
Retronia
